INCIDENT LOG

Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Nov. 12: Two rollover collisions were reported on SR 174 and Alderson Road near Wilbur and at the intersection of Riffe and Bergeron roads near Reardan. Slick conditions were a factor in both accidents.

A woman received care at Lincoln Hospital in Davenport after a one-vehicle slide-off on SR 2.

A pickup truck went into a ditch at Teel Hill and Old Hughes roads north of Davenport.

While making a turn from SR 2 onto Tramm Road, a vehicle lost control and went into a ditch and underneath a fence.

Odessa Police responded after learning someone had sprayed a fire extinguisher inside a parked school bus.

A resident of the 400 block of North Lake Street asked Reardan Police to assist after her dog got hold of a deer and injured it.

Nov. 13: Almira emergency personnel assisted a 96-year-old woman who had fallen.

Deputies investigated a possible theft involving purchases made on a Town of Creston account.

Dispatchers were advised of a man and woman disputing over religious teachings.

An autistic boy jumped from a moving vehicle and walked in and out of traffic on SR 2 just west of Davenport, prompting deputies to conduct a search for him.

A one-car rollover collision was reported at Klobushar and Old Coulee roads near Almira.

Wilbur Police investigated a report of "lots of yelling" in the 100 block of North Division.

Odessa Police checked out a reported burglary at the high school football field concession stand. Hot chocolate and apple cider were missing.

Odessa Police investigated several burglaries involving booths belonging to Christ Lutheran Church, Odessa FBLA, Odessa Booster Club, St. Joseph Society and Heritage Church. Another burglary report came from the Old Odessa Inn on South Division.

Nov. 14: After running over a rock in a driveway in Sprague, a woman smelled gas coming from the vehicle.

A resident of the 400 block of B Street in Sprague requested assistance with a man who refused to leave when asked to do so.

A caller expressed concern about what was described as a large group, including children, gathering for parties at a house on Stromberger Road.

A man was arrested and transported from Harrington for possession of marijuana.

Odessa Police responded to two malicious mischief incidents. One involved fire extinguishers empties near combines in the 300 block of North Alder. In the other, miscellaneous items were broken inside a fire truck at the local fire hall.

The new owner of a residence in the 300 block of Cottonwood in Reardan told police she found people she wasn't acquainted with inside. When she tried to talk to them, she said, the door was slammed in her face, prompting her call to law enforcement.

Nov. 15: A deputy investigated a building/fire code violation in the 200 block of South Division Street in Almira.

City of Harrington personnel reported the theft of a sign.

A caller told dispatchers that pot smokers may have been inside a vehicle parked on Fourteenth Street in Davenport, but a responding deputy determined tobacco was involved and advised the occupants they needed a permit from City Hall to continue selling satellites door-to-door.

Odessa Police investigated vehicle prowling near Odessa Drug and an unrelated report that a woman's car keys had been stolen from the car.

Reardan Police responded to a narcotics incident involving at least two men.

Nov. 16: Sprague ambulance personnel were dispatched to assist a man observed slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle with its flashers operating.

A caller described a belligerent solicitor working the 800 block of Main Street without a proper permit from Davenport City Hall. After a deputy arrived on scene, a supervisor agreed to round up his crew and leave the area.

A landowner on North Reiha Road told dispatchers about a theft of scrap metal from his farm after he didn't receive expected proceeds from individuals with whom he had an arrangement.

A resident of the 30000 block of Pine Tree Lane reported three vehicles had been stolen from her property.

Deputies responded to reported threats made against a woman in the 3000 block of Stromberger Road North near Sprague.

A caller told dispatchers he observed a Reardan school bus run a stop sign and travel at high speed near Gravelle and Hein roads.

Nov. 17: Harrington ambulance personnel assisted a 70-year-old man who had heart and abdominal problems.

A woman phoned in her initial concern about a helicopter that had landed next to her house in the 10000 block of North Carlson Road, but soon discovered it was a MedStar air ambulance that had set down as a "precautionary measure." The following day, she told dispatchers that several Angus cows had apparently been spooked by this and were missing.

Trader's Express personnel reported a woman hitchhiker in shorts and flip flops - and wearing what appeared to be a hospital band on her wrist - appeared in the Davenport store. A responding deputy ascertained she had left Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane without being examined and intended to walk to her home in Seattle.

A resident of the 30000 block of Schwartz Road North near Davenport reported vandalism to two mailboxes.

A deputy advised a baby's grandfather that despite concerns he expressed, the law required him to return the child to her biological mother.

The owner of a 1991 Cadillac stored in a shed near Jefferson and Tenth streets in Davenport reported someone had smashed all of the windows, scraped down its sides and took off side mirrors.

A deputy responded after receiving a report that the door to a tractor was open and a light on while parked near SR 2 and Ziemer Road east of Davenport.

A caller reported two young men in a car on Phar Road had become stuck and may have damaged the roadway. One was cited for possession marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A Harrington woman told dispatchers that someone had attempted to enter her residence in the 400 block of South Second Street prior to her call.

Nov. 18: Rollover accidents brought out emergency and ambulance personnel from Davenport and Reardan to a location near the Spokane County line on SR 2 and a Sprague crew to one on I-90.

A down tree blocked Welch Creek Road near Creston, prompting the sending of a county Public Works crew to remove it.

Alcohol was believed involved in an assault incident involving at least two men and a woman in Almira, to which at least three deputies responded. A man who suffered a possible broken nose was transported to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport. Deputies arrested one man. The initial report was that a woman allegedly had been assaulted by a man, who then punched the woman's husband in the nose when he came to her defense. At one point, deputies had to make sure a firearm in the residence was secured.

A man was arrested after a caller told dispatchers of a suspicious vehicle loaded with junk seen driving around the Edwall area and stopping at several old outbuildings.

Sprague ambulance personnel assisted a man who called from a residence in the 400 block of West Second Street and said he was feeling dizzy and disoriented.

Davenport deputies filed city code violation reports involving properties in the 300 block of Washington Street, the 800 block of Fifth, and the 300 and 400 blocks of Marshall.

Deputies stopped a semi-truck at Morgan and Fourth streets in Davenport after dispatchers took a report from a woman claiming it had been recklessly driven on SR 2, almost running her vehicle off the road.
