Titan girls drop three, look to stop unforced turnovers

The Wellpinit girls JV played the Titans in Harrington Friday, January 11, getting the win over O-H, 50-34.

Lanessa Simon led the scoring with 13 points for the Titans. Casey Schlomer had 10, Shelbey Watkins 7 and Makayla Baird and Ashley Baarstad 2 each.

Simon had 3 rebounds, 6 steals, 3 assists; Sam Nighswonger 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist; Shelbey Watkins 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 5 assists; Casey Schlomer 12 rebounds, 5 steals, 1 blocked shot.

Varsity

The varsity team was also handed a loss by Wellpinit.

Chelsea Fisher scored 10 points, Jordyn Tanke and Cydnee Kieffer 6 each; Carley Williams and Hannah Schmidt 2 each and Katie DeWulf 1.

Katie DeWulf had 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 1 assist; Chelsea Fisher 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, 3 blocked shots; Jordyn Tanke 9 rebounds, 7 steals, 4 assists, 1 blocked shot.

On Saturday in Harrington, the Titans met Wilbur-Creston in a league contest.

Casey Schlomer scored 8; Simon, Baarstad and Baird 5 each; Watkins 3, Shockley 2 and Nighswonger 1.

Simon had 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists; Shelbey Watkins 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist; Sam Nighswonger 3 rebounds, 2 steals; Kaeli Shockley 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assists; Casey Schlomer 10 rebounds, 6 steals, 1 blocked shot.

“This was much improved over our game with these girls at the Rosalia Christmas tournament,” said JV coach Alan Tanke.

Varsity

The varsity team also fell to Wilbur-Creston, 54-24.
