Monday, July 15: A Davenport woman requested law enforcement assistance with a man who she said moved into her residence in the 1100 block of Adams Street last spring without her permission.

A caller reported the loss of a wedding ring during the past two weeks at either the Davenport city park or Fort Spokane campground. The gold ring has an inscription with the couple's names and wedding date.

Deputies located a Davenport man who was thought to be off his mental health medication.

After a Davenport man was observed riding a 4-wheeler without a helmet on Ross Street, a deputy advised him to obey traffic laws to avoid a future citation. The man told the deputy he was test-driving the vehicle as part of his efforts to repair a stuck throttle at his automotive shop.

Deputies assisted the Washington State Patrol in responding to a report of a domestic assault occurring in a vehicle on I-90 near Sprague. A woman was arrested on an assault charge.

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Morgan and Harker streets in Davenport. A citation for failing to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic was issued to one of the drivers.

A Creston woman reported someone had pulled out fence posts on her property on NW Anderson Street.

Reardan Police intercepted two boys who were operating unlicensed motorcycles in the vicinity of Krupke and Brommer roads.

Tuesday, July 16: Traffic was slowed on SR 2 (Broadway Avenue) through Reardan as a result of construction on the roadway.

Despite a caller's concern, a boy, thought to be 10 or 11 years old, walked along SR 25 on a "hike" to the Davenport baseball fields, with his parents "well aware of what he was doing."

A CenturyLink phone line was down across the roadway on SR 231 north of Reardan.

A caller observed two vehicles racing on SR 2 about four miles west of Reardan.

A juvenile boy and girl were placed into custody in the wake of a burglary incident at a residence in the 500 block of Thirteenth Street in Davenport.

A caller reported two full-sized trucks had sped up and down Third Street in Harrington in the vicinity of the sheriff department's radar trailer that's been placed there.

A man who appeared to be living in his car parked in the Davenport Safeway lot told a deputy he was waiting for his mother to be released from the county jail, where she was confined after an alleged assault incident.

Wednesday, July 17: A lightning-caused fire was reported in the Grand Coulee area.

A Davenport man advised he received a call that requested him to get a Wal-Mart debit card and call a phone number.

A caller reported a possible safety issue with "bullets ricocheting in the area" of a shooting range in the vicinity of Moccasin Lane in the Moccasin Bay area.

After a woman's purse was left behind at the K&L Chevron in Sprague, one of debit and credit cards in it was used without permission. The woman told dispatchers she drove away after leaving the purse on the top of the vehicle. About $130 in cash also was in the purse.

A caller requested additional daytime patrols in Edwall, where several trucks reportedly have sped through town "over and over."

A vehicle stolen from Spokane was found vandalized near Long Lake and Coyote Ridge roads in the Devils Gap area north of Reardan.

A Grand Coulee woman reported a break-in at a barn along SR 174.

Wilbur EMTs assisted a woman who collapsed in front of the local hardware store.

Thursday, July 18: Creston ambulance personnel responded to a medical emergency at the Corner Café.

A Sprague caller told dispatchers that horses were illegally being pastured on property near Doerschlag and Estate roads.

Deputies apprehended a man who missed a court appearance and removed him from property in the vicinity of Skyview Place.

Personnel at Davenport Retirement Village were concerned about a boy who entered the facility and appeared to be scoping it out.

A Davenport man reported continuously barking dogs in the 800 block of Main Street.

Odessa Police responded to a disorderly conduct incident at the town's swimming pool.

Graffiti was reported sprayed on the walls of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa.

Friday, July 19: A young moose was spotted in the parking lot of Reardan's AgLink, Inc., facility.

After responding to a report that a man had allegedly assaulted a girl and shouted profanities and threats at others using the Hawk Creek campground, deputies determined the incident was verbal in nature.

A caller advised that a cell phone had been stolen while she rode a transit bus from Davenport to Spokane. Her phone company told her that several calls had been made to Ritzville since the loss of the device.

While delivering newspapers in the vicinity of 2nd Avenue and Cedar, an Odessa man told local police that the driver of another vehicle began yelling at him. The driver smelled of intoxicants and had a rifle in his passenger seat.

Reardan Police took two individuals into custody on marijuana-related charges after a traffic stop on SR 2.

Saturday, July 20: Deputies discovered a possible automobile chop shop operation in the Grand Coulee area.

A Reardan area caller reported a moose had been under an apple tree in the front yard of an Alexander Road residence for several days.

A Sprague caller asked for law enforcement assistance after having an argument with his adult son.

An ambulance was sent to the Davenport city park to assist a woman who collapsed while taking part in Pioneer Days activities.

A man told dispatchers that a caller who refused to give his name offered him $100 to check Carstens Road in the Reardan area for a stolen car.

A collision with a deer disabled a vehicle on Miles Creston Road about two miles from SR 2.

A Harrington woman reported a dispute between her and her daughter who she said had just been released from a juvenile detention facility.

A caller observed lights on and damage to a screen door at an abandoned residence in the 300 block of Maxwell Street in Davenport.

After being flagged down on SR 2 west of Creston, a deputy paged an ambulance to assist a possible stroke victim, but the "patient" signed a waiver and declined the offer, preferring instead to get some sleep.

A woman told Reardan Police that she was assaulted by another woman while at the post office.

Sunday, July 21: No injuries were reported after three vehicles collided on westbound I-90 near Sprague Lake.

A collision involving two deer and a van occurred on SR 2 near Wilbur.

Apparently marooned all night, an elderly woman and three dogs were found the next day inside a vehicle that had run off SR 21at the 90-degree turn near Wilbur and high-centered on a dirt mound.

Deputies investigated two possible assaults in Davenport involving two men in the 900 block of Morgan Street and two women in the 900 block of Thirteenth Street.

A loose pit bull was observed in the vicinity of Eleventh and Main streets in Davenport.

Requesting extra patrols in her neighborhood, a Sprague woman reported someone pulled blooms from her day lily plants in the 100 block of East 4th Street.

A caller requested a deputy's presence at Trader's Express in Davenport, where a truck and boat had backed into another car in the parking lot.

After dispatchers in Lincoln, Whitman and Spokane counties were notifiedthat she hadn't been seen after a hike along the Columbia Plateau Trail off Williams Lake Road, a woman returned to her residence at the Sprague Motel and RV Park.

A hit-and-run arrest took place in Spokane after two vehicles collided near the intersection of 2nd and F streets in Sprague after a possible domestic dispute involving the occupants.

Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a 72-year-old man who fell after experiencing dizziness in the 700 block of SE RR.

Odessa Police responded to a verbal domestic dispute at a residence in the 300 block of 1st Avenue.

Criminal Sentencing

Lissa M. Raftis, 51, of Spokane, pleaded guilty July 16 to second-degree theft (amended from residential burglary and theft of a motor vehicle) in connection with the taking of a Honda Civic from a Sprague area residence on Feb. 26. She must serve 30 days in jail (with a possible conversion to electronic home monitoring) and pay $800 court costs.

Civil Judgments

Firearms rights were restored by the court to Rodney R. Wendling, 41, of Davenport, after his successful completion of the court's requirements.

Jonathon Luke Gullard, doing business as L.G. Painting and Sons of Davenport, must pay $177.90 in unpaid workers compensation taxes to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

Cement Egg, Inc., of Reardan, must pay $509.79 in unpaid workers compensation taxes to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.
