Summer reading event ends with treasure hunt

The Odessa Friends of the Library completed seven weeks of the summer reading program "Dig into Reading" at the Odessa Public Library.

Each week featured a different subject, such as: big equipment that digs. Jim Williams, from the town maintenance crew, brought a front loader to show the group. Each child was encouraged to climb into the cab and have their picture taken, which they then took home with them.

Burrowing animals was another theme. A story about a groundhog was read and included a craft.
