Monday, Aug. 5: A Sprague man reported the tire on car parked in the 400 block of West 1st Street had been slashed.

A Davenport man was arrested after an altercation with another man at a residence on Olsen Road North.

Deputies determined as unfounded a Davenport woman's report that a man pulled a gun on her and pointed it at her head in the 600 block of Eighth Street.

A garden hose, reel and watering wand were reported stolen from outside the Katz Realty building in Davenport.

Damage was reported to greens and carts at the Harrington golf course. A couple of young people were observed using sand trap rakes on the greens. The carts were rigged to go between 35 and 40 mph. Beer cans and cigarette butts also were strewn throughout the course.

A Davenport man discovered trash had been thrown into his yard in the 1100 block of Adams Street.

An AgLink, Inc., tanker truck was involved in a rollover collision on SR 23 about two miles from Harrington, with ammonia reported spilling onto the roadway. Responding were firefighters and ambulance personnel from Harrington.

A young girl narrowly missed becoming a victim of several cars and trucks observed being driven recklessly around Almira's city park.

Davenport Family Foods personnel asked for law enforcement assistance with a woman who was asking customers for money on the sidewalk outside the store.

A man was placed in custody for violating a no-contact order at a Merriam Street residence in Davenport.

Tuesday, Aug. 6: Five to six marijuana plants were found by city workers tending to the Davenport Community Garden.

A Davenport area woman reported mail fraud involving a check she received for more than the price of a tractor she wanted to sell online, along with instructions to forward the extra money to a third party.

A man described as "unruly and aggressive" went onto the Harrington golf course to play without paying to do so.

After a caller reported a large group of campers on Sprague Lake were making excessive noise, it was discovered that only one person was involved and had the bass turned up in a car.

An ammonia odor was reported at the east end of the Davenport city limits.

Wilbur Police responded to a report that an intoxicated woman broke a window at Doxies Drive-In and was bleeding from her arm.

A Reardan man reported receiving "strange" texts from another man, who also may have been involved in threats made against other local residents.

Wednesday, Aug. 7: Harrington ambulance personnel assisted a 67-year-old woman having difficulty breathing, possibly as a result of anxiety or a diabetic reaction.

After an encounter with a deputy, a large group of bikers staying at the Davenport Motel agreed to turn down the volume of their music.

A girl was taken into custody on suspicion of breaking a window and other items inside a residence in the 1100 block of Ninth Street in Davenport.

A caller reported the unauthorized use of a credit card.

Stopping him at SR 2 and Waukon Road, a deputy advised the driver of a pickup and flatbed trailer that the safety chains were riding low on the roadway, resulting in a large amount of sparks.

A manhole cover on SR 2 and SR 28 (Morgan and Twelfth streets) in Davenport was found sticking up in the roadway.

A propane leak was reported in the 600 block of SE Washington Street in Wilbur.

Reardan Police responded to a report of vehicle prowling in the 400 block of North Laurel.

Thursday, Aug. 8: A 65-year-old man reported being stung "multiple times" by bees.

A wheat truck was observed traveling at high speeds and taking up most of the roadway in the Hanson Harbor area.

An Almira man told dispatchers that someone had filed tax returns, opened a credit card account and did student loans using his name and Social Security numbers.

A caller expressed concern about gunfire apparently originating from a mobile home in the vicinity of Crescent Road in the Reardan area.

Two men, recently released from jail, were observed running into the roadway on SR 2 in the vicinity of Ziemer Road east of Davenport. Asked to explain, they said they were trying to remove pieces of tire in the road.

Two boys were observed with flashlights on the roof of the Harrington school building.

Odessa Police investigated a man's report of sending more than $1,500 to get winnings from a contest delivered to him. After being told that what he sent wasn't enough, the man advised police of the possible scam.

Friday, Aug. 9: Toilets in the jail were described as "slow and getting slower" with one that serves the female section "plugged and overflowing" with the resulting odor "becoming unbearable."

A small amount of damage was reported to the road surface after a tire came off a vehicle in the vicinity of Morgan (SR 2) and First streets in Davenport.

A caller advised dispatchers of a verbal incident involving two individuals at a Boulder Way residence.

A deputy removed a large amount of tire debris from SR 2 near the Lincoln County Transfer Station west of Davenport.

Gravel was inappropriately dumped onto the roadway in the Lakeview Heights area.

A man was arrested for violating a no-contact order in Reardan.

A man using a burn barrel at an Euclid Road residence in the Reardan area told a responding deputy that he was unaware of a burn ban in effect.

Deputies responded to a Deer Meadows residence from which an intoxicated woman was attempting to walk to Ephrata with two young children.

Alcohol may have been a factor in a domestic dispute involving a man and his wife at the Lincoln boat launch.

Saturday, Aug. 10: A Reardan man reported a window had been broken on farm equipment on property along Devils Gap Road. He estimated that it would cost $385 to replace.

Deputies investigated a possible burglary at a residence in the 600 block of West 2nd in Sprague, where a door was broken through to gain entry.

An Almira woman reported being a victim of harassment.

MedStar air ambulance transported a heart attack victim to Spokane from the Telford rest area on SR 2.

A ground ambulance crew was involved in treating a 50-year-old woman who had been stung by a bee in the Fort Spokane area.

A 20-year-old woman on a boat in the Seven Bays Marina had difficulty breathing, possibly as a result of a mold allergy reaction.

A caller reported two men were cutting wood without permission on property along Whitney Road East near Davenport.

A lightning strike was responsible for a fire in the vicinity of Odessa's industrial park.

Sunday, Aug. 11: A door lock fell apart while a man who had rented Davenport Memorial Hall was trying to secure it afterwards.

Firefighters from Edwall and Reardan responded to a lightning-caused blaze near the intersection of Waukon and Tyler roads. Almira firefighters were summoned to a brush fire reported at Elm and 5th. Davenport firefighters extinguished a fire in Harker Canyon near Carp Lake.

A live power pole and line were reported down in the 100 block of North Maple in Reardan. The pole was described as snapped in half, possibly by a truck snagging the line and bringing it down.A deputy cleaned up a bag of garbage that included glass that had been tossed onto SR 25 about six miles north of Davenport.

A collision involving a car and deer was reported on SR 2 between Creston and Wilbur.

Criminal Disposition

Bryan Lee Wing, 37, pleaded guilty Aug. 6 to felony harassment (domestic violence) and was sentenced to 19 months prison and accompanying chemical dependency program (credit for time served), 19 months community custody and $800 court costs. A five-year no-contact order (U.S. mail excepted) was granted to protect three Davenport residents involved in the March 16 incident involving a life-threatening message left by voice mail. In his plea, he admitted calling in a "drug-induced rage."

Civil Judgments

A domestic violence temporary protection order requested by Victoria Louise Sanchez, of Creston, against Thomas Matthew Grace, was terminated Aug. 6 due to insufficient evidence to support the claim.

New Criminal Case

Christopher Charles Rogers, 28, of Davenport, is charged with residential burglary and third-degree malicious mischief in connection with an Aug. 4 incident during which someone attempted to kick down a door at a residence in the 300 block of Maxwell Street in Davenport.

Lincoln County (through the Treasurer's Office) seeks foreclosure of property in Deer Meadows and Deer Heights due to delinquent payments of road improvement district assessments.
