Boys get split, girls get two wins in basketball action

Against Northport, the Titan boys got the win, 53 to 35. They were paced by Shane Whitaker’s 17 points. Sam Schafer added 13, Jacob DeWulf 11, Trevor King 5, Caleb Behrens 3, Dakota Largent 2 and Carsen Weber 2. Weber also had 6 steals.

On Saturday, January 11, the Odessa/Harrington Titan boys lost to Valley Christian, 37 to 54.

Whitaker again led the Titans with 14 points. He also had 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. Weber scored 8 points, had 1 rebound, 1 assist, 3 steals; Schafer 7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals; Colt Sanford 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal; Dakota Largent 1 rebound; Jacob DeWulf 4 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal. The Titans only points in the fourth quarter were the result of free throws.

Girls

The Titan girls pounded Northport, 68-10.

Cydnee Kieffer led the Titan scoring with 19 points, followed by Hannah Schmidt with 16. Both girls had 8 steals apiece. Jordyn Tanke had 11 points, Lanessa Simon 7, Casey Schlomer 3, Katie DeWulf 3 and Kaeli Shockley 2.

On January 11, the girls defeated Valley Christian, 51-23.

Tanke led the scoring with 13, followed by Kieffer with 12. Tanke also had 5 assists. Schlomer had 7 pointsl and a whopping 15 rebounds. Schmidt had 6 points, Simon 5, Shelbey Watkins 4 and DeWulf 4.
