INCIDENT LOG

Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, April 14: Several deputies were assigned to the "U Text, U Drive, U Pay" anti-texting while driving emphasis in the county.

Deputies investigated a harassment matter involving unwelcome text messages received by a Wilbur woman.

A deputy advised occupants of an apartment in the 400 block of Ross Street in Davenport that they were "extremely noisy" and that other residents in the vicinity weren't able to sleep.

A resident of Johns Rocky Way north of Davenport filed a trespassing complaint.

Two loose roosters were reported on Main Street in Davenport between Eighth and Thirteenth streets.

A 15-year-old boy who lost consciousness after returning from school, possibly under the influence of alcohol, was transported by Davenport ambulance and Reardan EMTs to a Spokane hospital's emergency room. In a related report, a $20 bottle was reported stolen from the Davenport Safeway store.

Three boys were discovered inside the fence at the Davenport pool.

Wilbur Police investigated a possible child molestation incident.

Tuesday, April 15: While asleep in his car on Ninth Street south of Jefferson, a man's vehicle struck a rail car near grain elevators in Davenport.

A Creston area woman told dispatchers that a dog had disturbed trash receptacles during the night.

No one was reported hurt after a vehicle went into a ditch at the intersection of Max Harder and Sprague Lake Resort roads.

Mental health and jail personnel closely monitored a male inmate who had reportedly threatened to take his own life and was refusing meals while confined.

Near the intersection of Railroad and Birch streets, Reardan Police recovered a vehicle that was reported stolen in Spokane.

Wednesday, April 16: Creston ambulance personnel transported a 76-year-old feverish man to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport after learning he had coughed up blood at his NW C Street residence.

A deputy assisted a Davenport man whose son had phoned in concerns about his possibly being suicidal.

Reporting a phone scam, a Davenport area resident said a caller had threatened him with jail if he didn't pay a $8,000 judgment for tardy loan payments.

Two door-to-door vacuum salesmen were advised they needed a permit from Davenport City Hall.

A small amount of marijuana was confiscated from a male inmate's cell in the Lincoln County jail.

Thursday, April 17: An Edwall woman reported receiving an email message ordering her to report to court in Fresno, Calif. A responding deputy determined the message may have been intended for someone else, did not ask for personal information and did not refer to the woman by name.

Deputies located a runaway juvenile girl from Davenport.

Deputies responded to a report that someone had attempted to drive over a man in the Spring Canyon area.

Emergency personnel in Wilbur assisted an 85-year-old woman who fell, possibly breaking her hip, at a residence in the 600 block of Alder Street.

Reardan Police took a report of a "suspicious" man walking around town trying to set up vacuum cleaner sales.

Friday, April 18: Sprague ambulance personnel assisted an Edwall man having difficulty breathing.

Searching in the Rocklyn, Coffeepot and Harrington area, deputies caught up with a 14-year-old boy who had threatened harm to himself.

No one was reported hurt after a 4-wheeler went over an embankment on Airport Way in Seven Bays.

Deputies responded after taking a report that a horse trailer had been parked in a creek near Fisher Road north of Reardan and that someone was observed with guns on adjacent private property.

A Creston man reported a package was stolen from his front porch in the 100 block of Smith Street.

Odessa Police handled a report of a baseball hitting a car windshield at the school.

Saturday, April 19: Odessa ambulance personnel assisted a local woman having difficulty breathing.

Davenport ambulance personnel and Reardan EMTs assisted a woman suffering severe back pain.

Kathy's Market personnel reported the theft of liquor from the Sprague store.

Two Harrington residents phoned in their suspicions about an unknown vehicle that appeared to be prowling in the vicinity of the city park. When contacted by a deputy, the driver, who had a burglary conviction in his background, explained he was killing time while waiting to see his children at a residence where no one was yet home.

After asking a deputy if she could legally trade a firearm for a rototiller, a woman was told that in Washington, no additional information was needed, but for her peace of mind, she could request the State Patrol to run a criminal history.

Sunday, April 20: Davenport ambulance personnel transported a man from his Marshall Street residence to Lincoln Hospital where he was treated for a possible heart attack.

Sprague firefighters were dispatched to a possible pole on fire at 1st and H streets.

Wilbur ambulance personnel transported a 15-year-old girl to a Spokane hospital for treatment of high blood pressure.

A 29-year-old man was assaulted at a Spring Canyon area residence, but declined to press charges against the suspect.

A caller described a "horrible smell of smoke" in the vicinity of the 200 block of Washington Street in Davenport, noting that it has been noticed mainly after midnight over the past two years.

David D. Weiderman, 20, Grand Coulee, arrested on a Clark County warrant for assault.
