New PA-C, Danny Jones, joins OMHC

Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center announces the addition of Danny Jones, Physician Assistant-Certified, to the provider team at OMHC. He started holding clinic on May 5 and is available for appointments. PA Jones will gladly see patients of all ages. He has an outgoing, friendly personality and will no doubt leave his patients feeling served, comfortable and confident in his care.

"D.J." and his wife, Angie, plan to build a home in Odessa and have already started the complicated process. They currently reside in Medical Lake, where they will stay until their home is complete. D.J. will make overnight accommodations in Odessa when he is on call for the emergency room until their home is completed. Small communities are not new for D.J. He moved to Almira during his middle school years and completed his primary education there. The couple looks forward to becoming part of the community and D.J. especially looks forward to lending a helping hand to those in need of care. Angie cares for people in a different way. She works part-time as a massage therapist in Medical Lake and hopes to find a practice location in Odessa.

Jones attended the University of Washington, School of Medicine to complete his Physician Assistant Training Program in 2008. Later, he opted to obtain additional training and earned his Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska in 2011. D.J. has a very broad skillset. He was trained as a surgical technologist in the U.S. Navy and served in the Surgical Shock Trauma Platoon in Iraq in 2004. He continues his service to our nation as a Captain in the Army National Guard as a PA. After leaving active duty, D.J. worked as a surgical technologist at Sacred Heart Medical Center and at Rockwood Clinic. After receiving his PA degree, he worked for the Cosmetic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery Clinic at Rockwood both seeing clinic patients and spending time as a first assistant to the surgeon during operations. D.J. later went to work in the Valley Hospital Emergency Department where he stayed until his start with Odessa.

D.J. plans to continue service in the Army National Guard as a PA. He serves one weekend per month and two weeks per year. Occasionally they call him at other times to help care for troops in Washington state. He is currently the only PA in eastern Washington for the Guard.
