The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, June 2: A road sign on Williams Lake Road and the Old Sprague Highway was found knocked over.

A caller advised he saw a rattlesnake at the eastbound I-90 Sprague rest area.

A Reardan woman reported cow dung had been placed on the front door of a Crescent Road North residence and an obscene message written into it.

MedStar air ambulance transported a 79-year-old Harrington woman to a Spokane hospital for treatment after she was found unconscious and not breathing inside a 5th Avenue residence.

Residents along Mill Canyon Road emailed a message advising of telephone trouble that was hindering their ability to call 911.

Four sundresses, each valued at $20, were reported stolen from Davenport Pharmacy. A suspect was observed placing the items into a purse and leaving the store.

A one-vehicle collision was reported near the intersection of SR 23 and Lord's Creek Road in the Sprague area. Several reports were phoned in about a man walking along the roadway who may have been the driver involved.

Very young children were observed in the roadway apparently trying to flag down motorists to patronize their lemonade stand near the intersection of SR 28 and Fitness Lane in Davenport. After a deputy visited the scene, the parents agreed to move the operation to a safer location.

Tuesday, June 3: Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a possible heart attack patient at a Wagner Lake Road residence.

Wilbur firefighters responded to a report that a power line feeding pumps at the AgLink, Inc., installation was on fire.

Sprague ambulance personnel assisted a 39-year-old woman who stepped on a nail in the 300 block of East 1st.

After passing a vehicle on SR 2 near the Spokane County line, a Davenport school bus reportedly caused an oncoming vehicle to move onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.

Deputies responded to a reported verbal dispute involving a man and woman stopped at the SR 2 Telford rest area.

An Almira woman told town hall personnel that someone shot a BB gun at a residence in the 100 block of South 6th.

Battery cables and fuel were reported taken from a truck parked near an elevator on Douglas Road.

A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported on SR 174 north of Wilbur.

Odessa Police investigated a collision involving a young bicyclist and a pickup truck at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 2nd Street. The boy apparently got the sandals he wore caught in the bike's spokes. He was treated at the local hospital for a cut to his hand.

Wednesday, June 4: Odessa ambulance personnel assisted a man who had fallen in the bathtub.

A caller reported three deer were observed behind Davenport Pharmacy.

Harrington ambulance personnel assisted a possible heart patient in the 100 block of North 1st.

A large black cow was observed in the roadway on SR 25 about 20 miles north of Davenport.

Reardan area firefighters responded to a fire involving a power unit attached to a barn on Angels Landing Road North.

A fire believed caused by an Eastern Washington Gateway Railroad train was reported near McKay and Childers roads.

Setting off an alarm, someone tried to break into a missile silo used for farm storage near the intersection of Carlson and Zeiler roads in the Mohler area.

A 16-year-old Wilbur girl was bitten by a dog while running in the vicinity of County Road and Columbia. She was treated at Lincoln Hospital in Davenport for scratches and small wounds.

A Wilbur man who suffers from a sleep disorder was reported missing but later found in Stevens County.

Thursday, June 5: Avista Utilities workers responded to a report that connections were arcing on a power pole at Third and Park streets in Davenport.

Deputies took a report of possible harassment involving a woman and a 16-year-old boy in the 600 block of West Elm in Almira.

A vehicle reportedly crashed into rocks along Devils Gap Road near the substation.

A couple camping on state land near Cayuse Cove Road found a coffee can filled with marijuana.

Wilbur Police searched and found a pig that got loose in the vicinity of the Lutheran Church and the Wilbur schools.

Odessa Police assisted a resident on East 4th Avenue with the removal of a raccoon from a tree in the back yard.

Friday, June 6: Rugs were reported stolen from the lobby of the Davenport Post Office.

Family members removed firearms from a Davenport area residence after a man living there reportedly threatened to shoot his caregiver.

Lincoln Hospital personnel expressed concern about a 68-year-old man who entered the emergency room and threatened to harm himself before walking out to the parking lot.

Saturday, June 7: A Creston man phoned dispatchers and advised he had fallen and was experiencing severe pain.

Organizers of the Mule Chase fun run expressed concern about two aggressive dogs on Tramm Road.

A caller reported several Subaru vehicles with numbers on their doors were involved in some type of "race" activity on Coffeepot Road. The cars were observed traveling at high speeds and sliding on corners. The vehicles possibly were those involved in a report the next day that racing was taking place on SR 231 near Fisher and Moore roads north of Reardan.

A deputy investigated a report from a Sprague man that someone had posted threats against him on Facebook.

Davenport Building Supply personnel reported the theft of fertilizer from the store.

Inland Power and Light Co. personnel responded to a field fire caused by a down power line on Rock Bottom Loop Road east of SR 21 in the Wilbur area.

Deputies checked out a report that at least five riders at a time were observed on an ATV that was driven up and down Miles Road north of Davenport.

An Inland Power and Light Co. driver told dispatchers after his company vehicle went off SR 2 near Creston and ended up on its side that he may have fallen asleep on his way back from the field fire call.

Wilbur Police responded to a man's claim that he had been chased by a dog in the vicinity of the 500 block of NW Armstrong Avenue.

Sunday, June 8: Emergency personnel assisted a 42-year-old Davenport woman who suffered a seizure at a Maxwell Street residence.

Reardan Police responded to a verbal dispute between a man and woman in the 400 block of North Laurel. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the incident.

June 5: Nathan D. Mielke, 31, Davenport, arrested by LCSO for violating a no-contact order.

Kara-lyn Fithen, 30, Grand Coulee, arrested by LCSO for failing to appear for theft.

Angelique M. Harlan, 39, Sprague, arrested by LCSO for driving while license suspended and while under the influence.

Criminal Sentencings

Thomas Vernon Boutiette, Jr., 45, of Wilbur, pleaded guilty June 3 to first-degree theft (2 counts) and second-degree taking a motor vehicle without the owner's permission in connection with the removal of copper wire and a 1930 Chevrolet pickup truck from properties in the Wilbur and Odessa areas between September 2013 and January of this year. The charges were amended through plea negotiations from the original filing of first-degree theft, taking a motor vehicle, first-degree possession of stolen property, second-degree burglary (2 counts), third-degree theft, second-degree criminal trespassing and second-degree theft. He was ordered to serve 19 months in prison, pay $800 court costs plus attorney fees and restitution yet to be determined.

Carsie James Tikka, 35, of Spokane Valley, pleaded guilty June 3 to fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation and communications with a minor for immoral purposes. The charges were amended through plea negotiations from second-degree child molestation and three counts of fourth-degree assault in connection with incidents involving a 13-year-old boy on Jan. 12 and 13 while a passenger in a vehicle driven by Tikka in the Davenport area. After hearing from the boy's parents, the judge handed down a sentence that includes 364 days jail with credit for time served, $800 court costs, attorney fees yet to be determined and a sexual assault protection order effective through Feb. 20, 2017.

Juvenile Offender Disposition

A 15-year-old Davenport boy pleaded guilty June 3 to minor in possession and third-degree theft in connection with an April 14 incident at the Davenport Safeway store. His deferred disposition includes 12 months community supervision, 50 hours community service, 2 days detention and the revocation of driving privileges. He also must comply with a curfew and restrictions covering who he associates with and not possess any weapons. He also must complete chemical dependency evaluation and recommended treatment. A charge of furnishing liquor to minors was dismissed.
