Quilters bring home prizes

Three quilts entered by members of Fronen Steppdecker, The Odessa Quilt Club, won ribbons at the Spokane Washington State Quilters Show. Susan Ryan-Walter entered a quilt in the Inland Northwest Machine Quilters Challenge, a judged section of the show, and received a third place rosette in the category of hand guided machine quilting.

Kathie Donahue entered Southern Belle Sue, a pattern in her design line, Prairie Cottage Quilts. Made by Kathie and her daughter Erin MacGregor, it received a best-in-show rosette for machine quilting. Shelly Sieverkropp of Almira did the quilting.

Laura Estes entered her quilt, Tea For Three, started by Jessica Torres and finished by Laura, then custom machine-quilted by Susan Ryan-Walter. This quilt received the third-place, people's choice rosette for Best Machine Quilting.

Over 600 quilts were entered in the show, with numerous entries in each category. Entries came from quilters throughout Washington, Idaho and Montana.
