Titans defeat Northport Mustangs by score of 68 - 0

The Odessa-Harrington Titans had another reason besides the Harrington Fall Festival to celebrate Friday night when they claimed a 68-to-0, non-conference victory over the Northport Mustangs on September 25.

The Titans dominated the first quarter with a total of 44 points on six touchdowns. Sage Elder scored the first two touchdowns of the game. The first TD being a 30 yard run with Gavin Elder scoring the two-point conversion on a pass from Colton Hunt on the second play of the game, setting the tone for the remainder of the game early on. The second TD from Elder was on a nine-yard pass from Hunt.

G. Elder scored the third TD of the game on a 43-yard pass from Hunt, while Caleb Behrens ran in the two-point conversion. The fourth TD was made by S. Elder after catching a 35-yard pass from Hunt, with Dylan Shockley scoring the extra points.

G. Elder scored the 5th and 6th TDs, respectively, one on an eight-yard pass with Hunt running the ball for two points and the other TD on a 30-yard interception return.

While no points were scored in the third quarter, Behrens scored the only TD and two-point conversion in the second quarter, as well as the first touchdown of the fourth quarter on a 14-yard run, with Chance Messer scoring the two extra points. Aaron Gies made a 50-yard run, scoring the final TD of the game, with Messer running in the two-point conversion.

The point of attack at the line of scrimmage allowed quarterback Hunt plenty of time to set up good passes. Hunt completed five of six passes for a total of 97 yards and four touchdowns with an 83.3% completion rate.

The Mustangs managed only four first downs, while three turnovers were created. There were three total interceptions, two of them by G. Elder and one by Lane Lobe.

S. Elder had six carries for 118 yards and one touchdown and three pass receptions for 46 yards and two touchdowns, racking up a total of 164 yards.

G. Elder had two receptions for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Aaron Gies had one carry for 50 yards and one TD.

Behrens had seven tackles, and freshman Theron Schlomer had five.
