Titans get second loss, fall to ACH Warriors by 50 pts

It’s usually Odessa-Harrington giving the beatings and winning by large margins, but the roles were reversed Friday when thevisiting Almira/Coulee-Hartline Warriors swept in claiming a 50-point victory and handing the mighty Titans their second loss of the season.

ACH 8 22 20 14 64

The game started well offensively when Sage Elder was able to score on the opening play of the game. After that the Warriors paralyzed the Titans’ scoring efforts over the next seven touchdowns of the game. They shut down the Titans passing game and limited their running game, keeping them from scoring until the fourth quarter when Aaron Gies was able to make a nine-yard run for a TD followed by Dylan Shockley catching the pass from Hunt and making the two point conversion.

The Warriors made the final TD of the game going home with a win of 64 to 14.

The player statistics are as follows. Offense: Sage Elder had 21 carries for 91 yards and a TD, Gaven Elder had eight carries for 65 yards, Aaron Gies had eight carries for 42 yards and a TD, while Caleb Behrens had two carries for seven yards. Defense: Sage Elder had 13 tackles, John DeWulf nine tackles, Garrett Gross eight tackles, Colton Hunt and Gaven Elder six tackles apiece, and Caleb Behrens and Jacob Montgomery each had three tackles.

“ACH was more physical and they executed much better. We were never able to stop them from scoring. They scored a TD on every possession of the game” said coach Jeff Nelson. “This week we play Cusick, we played them in week three and won, but Cusick is much improved.” The game is at 7 p.m. this Friday, November 6, in Odessa.

The Titans now have a season record of 7-2 overall and 3-1 in league play. The Warriors are 8-1 and 4-0.
