School musical entertains; sound system disappoints

The Odessa school district’s production of the musical Hairspray Jr. was held March 31 in the school multipurpose room. Two performances were held, the early one mainly for school children and the later one for community members at large.

There were some notable performances. Molly Schafer as the female lead projected her voice well for her spoken dialogue, but unfortunately her singing was often overpowered by the musical score.
