O-H Titans win over Wellpinit by 70-6 score

The Titan football team chalked up another lopsided win last Friday in an away contest against Wellpinit. Gaven Elder led off the O-H scoring with a 26-yard run for a touchdown, with the icing on the cake supplied by his older brother Sage Elder who ran in the two-point conversion to make the score 8-0.

S. Elder then ran eight yards for the team’s second TD, but G. Elder was brought down short of the goal line on a running play to put the score at 14-0.

It was S. Elder again for TD number three on a 39-yard run. Quarterback Colton Hunt kept the ball and ran it in the two-point conversion.

The next two touchdowns were also by S. Elder on running plays of 64 and 59 yards. Marcus King ran the ball for the first two-pointer, and Joshua Clark ran in for the second successful conversion.

Hunt completed a pass to Chance Messer for the final TD of the first quarter on a 16-yard play. Hunt’s completed pass to Clark for another two points gave the Titans 46 points at the end of the first quarter.

Freshman backup quarterback Camden Weber came into the game for the second quarter, handing the ball to S. Elder who streaked 35 yards for another touchdown. Weber’s pass to King provided another two-point conversion.

Clark ran 25 yards for the final TD of the half, and Weber ran the ball himself for the added two points, bringing the half-time score to 62-0.

After halftime, both teams went back and forth, trading possessions with neither side able to score in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Weber completed a pass to King on a 29-yard play, with King also running the ball for another two points and scoring the Titans’ final game points.

Wellpinit put up the final score of the game on a 79-yard kickoff return. Clark had kicked the ball all the was to the Wellpinit 21 yard line, but no Titan defender was able to catch the ball carrier. The two-point attempt by Wellpinit was not successful, and the final score was 70 to 6.

The Titans finished the game with only two penalties for a loss of 20 yards and one turnover, a pass interception on which Wellpinit failed to capitalize.

The two quarterbacks did well. Hunt completed seven of eight attempted passes for a total of 75 yards. Weber went four for eight for 50 yards and had one pass intercepted.
