Veterans Day celebrated in Odessa

On November 10, a school-wide assembly was held to honor local veterans.

The Veterans Day dinner served up by a group of volunteers was enjoyed by a good crowd in the social hall of Heritage Church last Friday evening.

The cooks prepared roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, while the guests provided potluck salads, side dishes and desserts.

American Legion Post #105 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7395 sponsored the dinner and carried out the program. Legion member Bob Kissler was the master of ceremonies. Veterans were awarded pins for their years of service to one or both of the organizations.
