Congratulations to the Odessa High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America for taking home the top prize for the 2017 Hundred Dollar Project!

This creative and determined team of high school freshmen managed to make a huge impact on their small community with only $100 to start. By making and selling dozens of caramel apples at local events, the team quickly hit their goal of raising $1051.25, increasing their profits tenfold. Then, with their earnings, these amazing teens teamed up to prepare and deliver 553 homemade meals to 43 senior citizens throughout the community. The team has donated their $2,500 prize to the Odessa Healthcare Foundation, where they will continue to improve the lives of Odessa Senior Citizens. Students plan to resume the SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life) classes this winter which are geared toward senior citizens for improving mobility, overall health and cognitive awareness.
