Tigers lose to Pomeroy, season over for Odessa

The Odessa Tigers fell to Pomeroy Saturday, May 19, ending their hopes for moving on to the state championship game. ACH will play Colton for the state title this Saturday.

Nelson. Nelson gave up three runs on five hits. Tim DeWulf relieved Nelson in the seventh and pitched the final two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and allowing no hits.

After grabbing a one-run lead in the first inning, the Tigers fell behind in the second as Pomeroy brought three runners home. The score remained 3-1 until the fifth inning, when Pomeroy got another run, then added three more in the sixth. The Tigers staged a minor comeback in the seventh, driving in two runs before being shut down.

Eric Johnston hit a triple and drove in the team's only RBI. Tim DeWulf hit a double.

Also on May 19, the ACH Warriors continued their undefeated season, eliminating Sunnyside Christian, 7-1, then going on to defeat Pomeroy, 2-0.
