Criminal Sentencing

Jessie Lee Caraway, 33, of Spokane, pleaded guilty Feb. 12 to second-degree theft in connection with a June 24, 2016, crime in Sprague. He was sentenced Feb. 19 to 12¾ months in prison and 12¾ months community custody, $500 court costs and restitution to be determined. Under the Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative, he must not possess or consume alcohol, marijuana and non-prescribed drugs. As a result of a plea agreement with prosecutors, the original charges of residential burglary, second-degree burglary and first-degree theft were withdrawn.

Civil Judgment

Capital One Bank USA was awarded a $1,920.52 default judgment against Jamie W. (and “John Doe”) McKinney, of East Wenatchee and/or Odessa, in a matter involving unpaid credit account debt.

New Criminal Cases

Jonathan Jacob Anderson, 42, of Grand Coulee, is charged with second-degree identity in connection with the taking of a man’s driver’s license. He was arrested during a Jan. 18 traffic stop in Almira.

Austin Justus Proctor, 26, of Harrington, is charged with second-degree theft and first-degree trafficking in stolen property in connection with the taking of about $4,350 in jewelry from a Rocklyn area resident that was pawned in both Airway Heights and Spokane between July 21 of last year and Feb. 17.

Vera V. Trots, 30, of Springdale, is charged with possession of more than 40 grams of marijuana. She was taken into custody on Oct. 18 of last year after she sped away from a traffic stop in Reardan, traveled east into Spokane County and intentionally collided with patrol vehicles from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Airway Heights Police and the Washington State Patrol before finally coming to a stop on an Interstate 90 on-ramp. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office also was involved in the pursuit.
