New schedule is set for filling of East Low Canal
Last updated 3/17/2019 at 7:22pm
The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District will begin filling the East Low Canal for the 2019 irrigation season later than originally planned due to weather on Saturday, March 24, 2019. The original startup date was March 20.
Deliveries from the East Low Canal will begin on March 28. Deliveries to the East District’s Block 49, from the Potholes East Canal, have also been changed due to weather, and will begin to be available April 3.
Irrigation deliveries will be dependent on the demand within individual lateral systems. Pump plants will be started when orders are sufficient for start-up of the plants. Water users should contact their respective Watermaster Headquarters in Moses Lake or Othello or contact their ditchrider to receive current information and schedules.
The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District will continue evaluating weather and canal conditions and will make additional adjustments if necessary.
