Tigers win two, lose one in last week's contests

Columbia (Hunters)

The Columbia Lions faced the Odessa Tigers on Tuesday, October 15, in Odessa, winning 3-0.

McKennah Davison led the Tiger offense with five kills, and Maddy Wagner had 12 service aces in the match.

Wagner and Maddie Scrupps had six digs each on their side of the net. Ashlyn Neilsen had six assists and Caitlyn Schuh had four.

Scrupps was named the Odessa player of the match, and coach Suzie Deife said, “Maddie had a great game tonight with six digs out of the back row.”

Selkirk

On Saturday, October 19, the Tigers bowed to Selkirk in a very close, hard-fought match played in Odessa.

Despite Wagner’s 13 kills and Davison’s six service aces, the Tigers could not overcome the stronger Selkirk team. Emily Scrupps had three blocks and Jocelynn Hottell had two. Schuh and Hottell each had 10 digs to pace the Tigers, and Schuh also contributed 17 assists.

Cusick

Also on Saturday, the Tigers had a match against Cusick later in the afternoon, returning to their winning ways of the past few weeks.

Wagner had 11 kills and eight service aces to lead the Tigers. Wagner and Schuh each had one block. Schuh and Maddie Scrupps each had five digs, and Schuh had a whopping 18 assists. Hottell and Grace Nelson received service nine times each.
