Trapshoot competition ended last Sunday

After seven weeks of competition, the Marlin/Odessa Gun Club maintained its second-place position among Division I teams only six targets behind first-place Yakima Valley Sportsmen. The women’s Marlin/Odessa team stayed in sixth place, and the youth division shooters fell to sixth place. Sunday, Feb. 23, was the final day of competition, but the final tabulation of results for the eight-week contest won’t be available until later in the week. Week 8 resultsd follow below.

Marlin Gun Club

At the Marlin Gun Club Sunday, the only two out of the 58 shooters getting perfect 25s were Bill James and Taeven Brashear.

No one shot 24 at all, but Dan Asker, Doug Starkel, Rich Swanson, Tim Iksic, Mark Brashear, Jim Imbert, Camden Eckhart, Kevin Myre, Shelbey Brashear, Ron Lesser and Dakota McAfee all shot 23.

Hitting 22 targets were Daryl Kimble, Todd Druffel, Wayne Dainty, Kaden Johnson, Kevin Heer and Shana Galloway.

Dave Asker, Carmen Eckhart, Ken Eckhart and Kaleb Pfeifer all shot 21.

Everyone else fell into the 20 & under slot: Austin Nelson, Scott Mortimer, Matthew Mortimer, Doug Brashear, Chuck Ray, Brent Finkbeiner, Josh Gray, Rob Imbert, Jakob Starkel, Gage Starkel, Chad Jackson, Susan James, Noel Bowden, JD Bluhm, Garret Johnson, Tyson Visker, Mark Kramer, Jessie True, Izabelle Kramer, Charlene Krause, Teri Kramer, Tyler Bise, Brayden Finkbeiner, Kolby Lyon, Miller Stout, Wiley Kimble, Aurora Iksic, Travis Visker, Landon Ribail, Jade Stewart, Chris Stout, John Hagood, Cole Henningar, Farley and Steve Teleky.

The High Doubles shooter was Bill James, who also won the Annie Oakley contest.

High Handicap shooter was Mark Brashear, and the Miss-n-Out winner was Travis Visker.

Odessa Gun Club

At the Odessa Gun Club, only Jon Fink scored a perfect 25.

Shooting 24 were Jared Praetorius, Nick Tebow and Daeton Deife.

Markus Smith, Lane Lobe, Cody Stanford, Trevor Smith, Tyler Smith and Shelby Smith all shot 23.

Hitting 22 targets were Bill Weber and Marcus King.

Garrett Braun, Pilot Weishaar and Tanner Stanford shot 21.

Shooting 20 and under were Justin Hunt, Brian Wraspir, Colley Walter, Doug Tebow, Jared King, Cade Weber, Nathan Melcher, Tucker Walter, Mitch Wraspir, Carley Stanford, Meagen Kane, Koree Smith and Paige Alloway.

High Handicap shooters were Trevor Smith and Markus Smith. Jon Fink won both the High Doubles contest and the Miss-n-Out contest. The Annie Oakley award went to Colley Walter and the Bushwacker award went to Markus Smith.
