East/West divide: Cascade range not just a geographical boundary

The results of the Washington state presidential primary election demonstrate clearly that the mountains bisecting the Evergreen state are not just a geographical divide. Ballots counted to date reflect the differences in political viewpoints that tend to support Democratic candidates west of the Cascades and Republican candidates east of the Cascades.
