DAVENPORT-There's a new sheriff in town. Well, a new deputy anyway.

New Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Carsen Weber graduated from the

Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center on Feb. 20 (a photo of Weber being congratulated by Lincoln County Sheriff Wade Magers ran in the February 27 edition of The Odessa Record). Weber also recently graduated from Central Washington University in Ellensburg with a B.A. in criminal justice.

He is currently training on the job in Lincoln County. "He is now in our Field Training Deputy program, riding with other deputies, learning the ropes," Lincoln County Sheriff Wade Magers said.

Weber is the son of Larry and Kelly Weber of Odessa and the grandson of Tom and Lynette Schafer and the late Jerry and Bev Weber, all of Odessa. He graduated from Odessa High School in 2015 as the valedictorian of his class. At Odessa High he was also a three-sport athlete and participated in FBLA.

Magers said his office is fortunate to have been able to recruit Weber. "Deputy Weber graduated with 32 other police officers and deputies from agencies throughout the state," Magers said. "He was recognized as the No. 2 overall academic recruit with an average score of 96% in all of the core tests taken over the past five months."
