A Phase 3 update on Davenport businesses and services

DAVENPORT – Lincoln County entered Phase 3 of Gov. Jay Inslee’s state re-opening plan on June 5. Some downtown Davenport businesses and services have re-opened or adjusted guidelines as a result. Others are maintaining previous restrictions or waiting to re-evaluate their guidelines.

El Ranchito and Tribune Smokehouse are both now allowing seating at 75 percent capacity. In Phase 2, they were only able to seat at 50 percent capacity. Tribune Smokehouse co-owner Debbie Brickner said she hopes business will perk up as people feel more comfortable going out.

Subway is allowing dine-in eating with a maximum of five people per table. They received clearance from their corporate office to open dine-in around halfway through Phase 2. The tables are spaced apart, plexiglass has been installed at the counter and a shipment of masks arrived for workers to wear.

Edna’s Drive-In is still just doing takeout and drive-thru service, and plans to follow that model through the summer. Business has been good, according to workers, and they will re-evaluate guidelines in the fall.

City hall is now allowing one guest in the lobby at a time. Plexiglass has been partly installed at the counter, and the city is waiting on their private contractor to finish installing the rest. Previously, city hall kept its same operating hours, but no one could go inside the lobby. Comments, concerns and other business had to be written and left in the drop box outside city hall.

Cast Iron Tattoo re-opened on June 23 by appointment only. No walk-ins are allowed. The door must remain locked. Only one client is allowed to be inside at a time, and they aren’t able to bring in guests.

B Fit is open and has only about 10 people visiting per day. The gym is being cleaned twice per day. Members must thoroughly sanitize equipment after each use. Cleaning supplies are available in the gym.

Peak Fitness Physical Therapy is only allowing active patients in their lobby, per a sign on their front door.

Phase II Hair Design is open by appointment only, with no walk-ins allowed. Only one client is able to be in the shop at a time. Employees must follow a 15-minute cleaning process and change their clothes and masks following each appointment with a client.

Phase 3 allows for the re-opening of libraries and museums. Davenport Public Library re-opened on June 13 and are following standard sanitation protocols. However, the Lincoln County Museum remains closed and didn’t return phone calls.
