Lincoln County sheriff's deputy nets felony drug bust

Traffic stop results in drug seizure

DAVENPORT – A traffic stop by a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy last week resulted in the seizure of illegal narcotics and the recovery of stolen property.

On Aug. 26 Lincoln County Deputy Kurt Cuzzetto stopped a vehicle traveling 72 MPH in a 60 MPH zone on Hwy 2 one mile west of Davenport.

The vehicle swerved into the oncoming lane and traveled approximately 50 yards before swerving back into his lane and stopped. The driver and two occupants were contacted and the driver was unable to provide a valid driver’s license or identification, according to reports from the sheriff’s office.

Deputy Cuzzetto observed multiple crunched up pieces of tin foil, butane torches, and other drug paraphernalia present in the vehicle. The driver was observed attempting to conceal the items. The driver verbally identified himself and it was determined he was driving with a suspended license.

Two separate search warrants yielded: 18 grams of meth, multiple foil balls containing black tar heroin, a digital scale, baggies, 4 glass smoking devices, wallets from four different people. Two of the wallets were from vehicle prowls in Wenatchee.

The search also found numerous syringes, a pocket book containing orders and quantities for non-prescription narcotics, duffle bags full of clothing and items from ROSS with security tags still attached.

Drug charges and possession of stolen property charges are pending for all three occupants of the vehicle.
