Track and field season gets under way

Davenport boys and girls win first two meets

DAVENPORT – For the first time in two years, track and field athletes have been competing in Davenport, Reardan and Harrington.

The Gorillas have enjoyed great success thus far, with both the boys and girls teams winning their first two meets at Lind-Ritzville High School April 24 and Snyder Field in Chewelah April 27.

Davenport dusted off the field at Chewelah, with the boys finishing with 114.5 points over second-place Chewelah's 85 points and the girls finishing with 85.5 points to Chewelah's 77. At Ritzville, the Gorillas boys won with 154 points over second-place Chewelah, who had...
