ODESSA – Odessa High School’s head volleyball coach Suzie Deife has been named the NE District Coach of the Year by a vote of her fellow coaches. This is only Deife’s second year as head coach in Odessa. “What an honor and give full credit to my incredible girls for letting me coach them!” she says.

She went on to share the announcement of the 1B volleyball NE District All-Opponent team, which includes three Odessa Tigers, seniors Joycelynn Hottell and Maddie Scrupps, along with junior Emily Scrupps. “It was definitely not the ideal season, but my athletes powered through and made the most of (it),” she says.

In addition to being named to the all-opponent team, Emily Scrupps was also recognized as the District’s MVP.
