ODESSA – In a close game that went into overtime on Tuesday, June 8, the Odessa High School girls defeated Wellpinit at home in Odessa. Although up by 10 at the half, Odessa faced a determined Wellpinit in the last two quarters as they chipped away at the lead and ended regulation play in a 50-50 tie. The Tigers prevailed in overtime.

Ashlyn Neilsen and Hayden Schuh scored 23 and 20 points, respectively to pace the Tiger offense. Sophomore Laela Hardung led the team in rebounding with 10. Neilsen contributed to the defense with two blocked shot attempts by the opposition.
On Wednesday, June 9, Wellpinit hosted the Tigers, and the outcome was far different, with the Redskins pounding the Tigers, 41-24.

Schuh was the Tigers' high scorer with 11, while Neilsen was held to only six. Eighth-grader Kathryn Finch led in rebounding with seven.
The June 10 game against Almira-Coulee-Hartline saw Neilsen back in fine form as she led the scoring with 21 points.

Laela Hardung led the rebounding with five. Schuh and Kesiah Cook each had one blocked shot for the Tiger defense.
The final match-up with the Mary Walker High Chargers of Springdale was also a win for the Odessa girls. Maddie finished her high-school athletic efforts with a team-high 12 points, and Schuh added another 10.

Kathryn Finch led the team's defense with 10 rebounds and two blocked shots. The girls ended their season with four wins and only two losses. They will lose two seniors to graduation, Maddie Scrupps and Katreace Boss, but several younger players have shown great promise for next year's basketball season.
