Lincoln County water levels remain low

County commissioners hear report on potential mitigation strategies

DAVENPORT – Lincoln County’s water levels have been steadily decreasing for quite some time, and this year’s drought that has brought minimal precipitation to the county isn’t helping.

The county commissioners heard a report from Dr. Kevin Lindsey, a hydrogeologist with GeoEngineers based in Kennewick who has been working with the county on county aquifer levels for over a decade, and conservation district director Elsa Bowden on the current state of water levels and potential strategies for future monitoring at the commissioner’s Sept. 7 meeting.
