Gorilla volleyball swept at Liberty

SPANGLE – The Davenport girls got off to a rough start in a difficult challenge at the historically mighty Liberty Lancers in the first regular season volleyball match of the season. The Gorillas were swept in straight sets 25-11, 25-13, 25-10 Tuesday, Sept. 7.
Hailey Carter notched five aces for Liberty, who dusted off Davenport without much trouble in the regular season opener for both teams.
Senior Kylee Buchanan, Davenport’s top player last year, notched seven kills. Allie Jorden added 13 assists for the Gorillas.
