Davenport sophomore Jaeger Jacobsen crosses the finish line victorious at regionals in Colfax Saturday, Oct. 30. Jacobsen and the Gorillas qualified for the state meet in Pasco on Saturday, Nov. 6.
COLFAX-Sophomore Jaeger Jacobsen has been Davenport's best cross-country runner all season, and Saturday, he proved he's one of the best B runners this side of the Cascades with a first-place finish at the District 7/9 B Regional Championships.
Jacobsen's finish, along with a top-10 finish by senior Jake Coffman, helped the Gorilla boys qualify for state with a third-place team finish. The top four teams qualified for state, and the Gorillas were joined by St. George's, Chewelah and Asotin as the teams from the region to head to state.
