Nikkola announces retirement as football coach

P.E. teacher to remain co-A.D.

REARDAN-Longtime head football coach Eric Nikkola informed his team that he's retiring from the position after Reardan's season-ending game against Wahluke Friday, Nov. 5. Nikkola leaves the position after 18 seasons in the head position and over 10 years as an assistant coach.

He said he wanted to retire after the 2020 season, but once the COVID-19 pandemic hit, decided to wait until after this season.

"Last year was such a trainwreck of a year, so I decided to coach another year," Nikkola said. "I wanted to help get us through COVID before retiring."
