Gustaveson places 5th at Tri-County

Davenport's Brendon Peters-Biggs turns to the head of Medical Lake's Mason Holt to gain control in a 132-pound match. Peters-Biggs pinned Holt in 3:16 for the win.

SPOKANE VALLEY – A Davenport wrestler finished in fifth place at the Tri-County Classic wrestling tournament Dec. 23 at Central Valley high School.

Brock Gustaveson led the Gorillas with 13.0 team points.

Gustaveson opened with a bye and then faced Cole Schumacher (Mead), winning by pin in 26 seconds.

Gustaveson then pinned Keemani Benavides of Mead in 4:22 taking him to the semifinal round. But he lost his next two matches to Pullman grapplers Samuel Sears by pin in 3:37 and to Merreck Emerson by decision, 8-6.
