Woman killed in two-car crash on Wood Road

Deceased's identity has yet to be released

DEEP CREEK--An adult woman was killed this morning in a two-car crash near the 6500 block of North Wood Road in Spokane County northeast of Reardan. The crash occurred around 7 a.m., according to a press release from the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was driving a 2003 Saturn Ion northbound on Wood Road when the car crossed the center line and crashed into a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck, the release said.

The deceased was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries and didn't need to go to the hospital, the release said.

Investigators remain on scene to further determine the crash's full cause. Wood Road is closed from West Jacobs Road to West Coulee Hite Road.

The deceased's name will be shared when made available by the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.
