County receives third broadband internet grant

DAVENPORT—Lincoln County has received a third broadband grant toward building fiber in local, small municipalities. This grant, courtesy of the state Broadband Office, is for $5,218,072 and will provide an eight-mile connection between Sprague and Lamont and a 13-mile connection from Creston to Hawk Creek.
The county previously received a $1,963,920 grant from the Community Economic Revitalization Board for Almira, Creston and Harrington fiber-to-home connection and a $4,162,072 grant from the Public Works Board for Reardan, Odessa, Sprague and Hawk Creek housing development.
