Alsept wins state championship high jump title

Davenport boys finish second in team scoring

CHENEY-A personal record jump of six feet three inches gave Reardan sophomore Richard Alsept Lincoln County's lone individual 2B state champion at the WIAA 2B State Championships held at Roos Field on the campus of Eastern Washington University Thursday-Saturday May 26-28.

Alsept's high jump mark was two inches higher than his second place competitor, senior Tre Seydel of Raymond. Senior Jarrett Jacobsen of Davenport finished third in the event.

The Davenport boys had the best team finish, with a second place mark of 55 points behind state champion Rainier, which had 67 points.
