ODESSA- The Class of 2022 Graduation Ceremony was held on Saturday, June 4.

The school gymnasium was proudly decorated with orange and black to celebrate the event.

Due to the pandemic this was the first graduation to be held in the gymnasium since 2019.

Principal Jamie Nelson opened with a speech about the growth of the class.

Nelson stated how they had been a challenge due to their out-spoken nature.

She also said she was proud of how far they had come and hoped they would continue to keep that spirit.

Paul Sheldon, the class salutatorian, gave the first speech after Nelson.

"Today is a very big day for all of us," Sheldon said. " It is the start of a new chapter in our lives. It is also the end of very fun moments."

He also thanked the staff for all that they have done.

Sheldon also took time to thank the graduating class and the parents.

"To my class, thank you for all the memories and time we had together," Sheldon said. "We've had our ups and downs with each other, but look, we made it."

Nathan Carstensen was class valedictorian.

Carstensen also thanked the staff and parents for their unwavering support.

"This community is truly something special and the endless support from all of you, along with all of the lessons that we have learned over the years, will be with us the rest of our lives," Carstensen said.
