DAVENPORT-Last year, the Gorillas had to watch as rival Reardan celebrated a district playoff win on their home field. This year, the Davenport soccer team was doing the celebrating after a comeback 3-2 victory over the Brewster Bears in a District 6/7 crossover game sent the Gorillas to the B State Playoffs Saturday, Nov. 5.
Brewster came to town as a team Davenport had already defeated twice in the regular season, but the Bears did not make it easy on the Gorillas. Ami Mora took a shot that glanced off two Gorillas to give Brewster a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute.
