Town council approves COLA for its employees

REARDAN–Public works director Bob Winn, representing the town’s employees, requested a 4.5% cost-of-living adjustment increase at the town council meeting on Nov. 17. He presented data showing the proposed COLA would be in line with those adopted by other communities in the area.

Council approved the increase after some discussion before authorizing an increase in the property tax levy to $99,003 after reviewing the 2023 budget.

This amount is $2,366 higher than the levy collected in 2022.

Council also set the dates allowing residents to burn yard debris from Nov. 26 to Dec. 4.
