2023 Miss Rodeo Washington Bailey Nachtigal talks to a guest at her coronation/ fundraiser at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. Over 160 guests and 26 royalties came to show their support Saturday, Feb. 25.

DAVENPORT - Over 160 supporters and 26 Rodeo royalties came to support 2023 Miss Rodeo Washington, local woman Bailey Nachtigal, during her fundraiser and coronation at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds Saturday, Feb. 25.

Dinner was a taco bar made by volunteers and members of Nachitigal's family.

A silent and live auction was held with additional donations for bidders; a saddle, a book gift basket, gift cards and homemade desserts were among the items for auction.

A dessert dash was held at the end of dinner, with the winning table donating over $270.

Nachtigal was introduced to the stage by Al Parsons, who has known Bailey since she was a young child.

"I have watched Bailey grow into the woman she is today," Parsons said before Nachtigal entered the stage.

Parsons said he was proud of Nachtigal and thanked the supporters for coming to the event to show their support.

Nachtigal shared similar sentiments after stepping on stage.

"I want to thank everyone who came out to support me," Nachtigal said. "We have over 160 guests and 26 royalties here this evening."

Nachtigal said the 2023 Miss Rodeo Washington position does not pay and fundraisers like hers help with costs throughout the year.

"This is an unpaid position, and the funds raised help with the costs of travel, upkeep and whatever else we may need along the way," she said.

She thanked her family for their never-wavering support.

"My dad is always fixing something I may or may not have broken," Nachtigal said with a laugh from the crowd. "This would not be possible without all of you."

Natchtigal's next steps are traveling throughout the United States, including running for Miss Rodeo America.

"Throughout the year, I will be traveling all over the country," She said. "Then, I will run for Miss Rodeo America in December."

Natchigal said she hopes to travel more after that but would like to return to competing.

"After that, I will return to being a rodeo competitor," Nachtigal said.

She said visiting as many places as possible is one of her goals for the new year. She also hopes to educate those who may not be familiar with the rodeo lifestyle.

"Spreading the word about professional rodeo and the western way of life," she said. "I want to visit all four corners of the United States, and I already hit Florida last week, so that is one off the mark."

Nachtigal said it is essential to represent Washington to the best of her abilities.

"I just want to represent Washington the best I can," she said. "My hometown, and really touch the lives of those who support our rodeo and keep the Western way of life alive."
