Case dismissed after defendant dies

DAVENPORT — A Spokane woman facing two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm had her case dismissed after she died of an overdose in Spokane Valley.

36-year-old Ashley A. High died of an accidental overdose on the 12000 block of East Mission Avenue in Spokane Valley Wednesday, Feb. 15. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office determined her cause of death to be toxic effects of fentanyl and methamphetamines.

High was arrested Dec. 14, 2022 on the 1200 block of Park Avenue in Seven Bays and charged with unlawfully possessing a 12-gauge shotgun and Ruger 9mm, according to records.

Her charges were subsequently dismissed in Lincoln County Superior Court Tuesday, March 13.
