Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

New soccer coach hired

REARDAN - The school board approved the hire of Richard Breedlove as the new high school girls soccer coach for the 2023-24 school year at their regular meeting Wednesday, June 28.

Breedlove grew up in Spokane and graduated from Ferris High School in 1993.

He started coaching soccer in 2005 and that year led the Spokane Soccer Club Falcons to second-place finishes at the Northwest Cup and the Bill Eisenhower International Soccer Tournament.

Since 2005, he has coached club soccer on and off while working as territory sales manager for a plumbing and HVAC supply company in Spokane.

"I have a passion for working with kids," Breedlove said. "My goal is to build a love for soccer in Reardan and all the communities in Lincoln County. I want the kids to develop confidence, determination and to learn to be supportive teammates."

Breedlove lives in Davenport with his wife Delia, the Davenport Library librarian, and children Rylan, Alyssa and Gianna.

He takes over the position from Heaven Berarducci, who resigned after one season at the helm.

Breedlove inherits a young team that finished with a 5-11 record last season, good for fourth place in the Northeast 2B. The Screaming Eagles advanced to districts, where they fell to Tonasket.
