Tigers fall to St. John in opener

Odessa's Melloney Deife sets the ball against St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse. The Tigers fell to the Eagles in straight sets Tuesday, Sept. 5.

ST. JOHN - The Odessa volleyball team put up a fight in every set, but was ultimately swept by the St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles in three sets Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The Tigers and Eagles battled in the first set, but SJEL earned a tight 33-31 victory. Odessa then fell 18-25 and 20-25 in the two subsequent sets.

Hayden Schuh led Odessa with five kills, two aces and 16 digs, while Melloney Deife had 18 assists and two aces.
