Harrington Hometown Christmas is Saturday

HARRINGTON —Christmastime will be in full swing in the city this weekend. The Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Hometown Christmas runs for most of the day Saturday, Dec. 2.

Santa Claus arrives in town at 10 a.m. and will be available for pictures with children (and adults, if so desired) until 12:30 p.m. at the Opera House.

Meanwhile, the Harrington FFA Chapter will sell Christmas trees, wreaths and poinsettias while offering a chili and cinnamon roll lunch from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Then, attendees can head to 105 South Third Street for Santa Land Bingo, which is sponsored by the Booster Club and runs from 11 a.m. to roughly 5 p.m. Cards will be sold for $1 apiece, with soup and hot chocolate available to warm cold hands and stomachs.

Elsewhere, shopping, children’s activities, food and live music will be offered at Memorial Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

And the day concludes with the tree lighting and caroling at 4:30 p.m. at the Gazebo across from The Electric Hotel.
