ScrEagles host meet, then travel

REARDAN - Joey Matusik and Carson Kline each won three matches to pace the Screaming Eagles in their wrestling meet against Medical Lake, Rogers and Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) Wednesday, Dec. 6.
Matusik, competing in the 106-pound weight class, pinned all three of his opponents, Dexter Degenstein of Lakeside (twice) and Charlotte Godinez of Lakeside.
Alex Matusik lost his only match of the day to Konnor Spradling of Lakeside in the 113-pound weight class.
In the 126-pound weight class, Landon Smith defeated Josiah Babcock of Rogers.
Carson Kline, competing in the 138-pound weight class, pinned Ben Orth of Lakeside, Montay McQueen of Rogers and Logan Stenson of Rogers.
H.K. Bird lost his only match of the meet to Alijah Rhoades of Rogers.
Connor Kline placed first in the 190-pound weight class with pins over Benson Osborne of Lakeside and Le'Bron Smith of Rogers.
Carson Durbin wrapped up the meet by pinning Dakota Heisley of Rogers in the 215-pound weight class.
Reardan was then off to the Leonard Schutte Invite in Othello.
Conner Kline pinned Kase Montgomery of Ellensburg in 2:25, Miguel Zuniga of Othello in 1:50 and Rex Hoover of Cascade Christian in 4:56 to win his weight class.
Joey Matusik defeated Gilberto Mendoza Virrueta of Southridge by technical fall and pinned Conner Gilbert of Othello in seven seconds, then fell to D'Anthony Garcia Reyes of Selah by major decision 13-0 to take second place.
Alex Matusik pinned Eric Pullen of Riverside (Boardman) in 1:20, then fell to Saidt Alvarez of Quincy by technical fall 18-1. Matusik then pinned Jeremiah Vargas of Othello in 2:08, Devon McManemy of Cascade Christian in 0:37, Caelan Vincent of Chiawana in 1:52 and Camble Amacker of Southridge in 2:55 to take third place.
Carson Kline pinned Casper Appleman of Cascade Christian in 3:59, Mateo Rockwell of Riverside in 2:03 and Adriel Flores of Othello in 3:24 to take third place.
Carson Durbin pinned Mason Betcher of Southridge, Caleb Harris of Cascade Christian in 1:13 and Deklin Graham of Ellensburg in 2:59 to take third place.
Levi Hutton was pinned by Hector Gonzalez of Chiawana in 2:00 and Brecken Buehler of Selah in 0:51.
On the girls' side in league play at East Valley High School Thursday, Dec. 7, Danika Bretz pinned Kendle McGovern of Kettle Falls in 0:28 before getting pinned by Alexis Taylor of Liberty in 2:40 to take second place.
The team's next outing will be at the Tr-State Tournament Friday, Dec. 15 in Coeur d'Alene.
