Harrington wrestlers at Gorilla Invitational

DAVENPORT - All three of the Harrington boys competing on the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna/Harrington athletic co-op agreement were on the mats at the Gorilla Invitational Saturday, Dec. 16.

The Broncos took third place at the Invitational, securing 110.5 points, just behind Northwest Christian's 137 and Kittitas's 127.

In the 144-pound class, sophomore Turner Slack was pinned by Nik Bakhtin of NWC in 0:43, but bounced back to pin Paxton Gaines of Selkirk in 0:49 and beat teammate Wyatt Rosman in overtime 13-11 for a third-place finish.

Senior John Branham, wrestling at 190 pounds, was pinned by Dylan Valadez of Mary Walker in 3:35, but pinned Ethan Reid of Northwest Christian in 1:22. Branham was then pinned by Sterling McLaughlin of Reardan in 0:26 before pinning Carl Medhaug of Davenport in 0:48 to take fifth place.

Wrestling at 132 pounds, senior Alex Bonner was pinned by Sam Drake of Kettle Falls in 1:52 and Noah Stegman of Northwest Christian in 2:24.

The Bronco grapplers are at Rogers High School at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23.
