Annual boating permits available only in person

FORT SPOKANE – Planning to go boating on Lake Roosevelt in 2024? You’ll need a boating permit and you’ll have to buy it in-person this year.

The National Park Service is discontinuing its online boat permit purchase system at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.

Annual boat launch permits will only be available at specific locations, officials said.

According to the National Park Service, annual boating permits are available at the following locations:

• Electric City – Coulee Playland, 401 Coulee Blvd.

• Fort Spokane Store and Restaurant, 4371 State Highway 25

• Fruitland – Fruitland Service, 5369 state Highway 25

• Grand Coulee – Coulee Hardware, 416 Midway Ave.

• Kettle Falls – Harvest Foods, 260 W. Third Ave.

• Wilbur – Country Lane Campground and RV Park, 14 Portland St. N.W.

Annual permits are good from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2024, officials said, noting weekly permits are still available.

Weekly permits are good for seven consecutive days from the date of purchase and still available online.
