Wolf meeting set for Davenport

DAVENPORT — The state Department of Fish and Wildlife is joining the Lincoln County Cattlemen’s Association for a meeting about wolves and wolf management in the county here soon.

The meeting, which will feature wolf biologists, conflict specialists and enforcement officers, is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 at Memorial Hall, 511 Park Street.

“Lincoln County doesn’t currently have resident wolf packs but transient wolves have been seen there in the past,” the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife said in a press release. “As wolves expand throughout the state, we could have packs in the area in the future.”...
