Gorilla boys dominate Shockers, 55-33
Davenport's Caige Colbert flipping a pass to a teammate in the Gorillas' win over Waterville.
DAVENPORT – Junior Caige Colbert scored 25 points to lead the Gorillas to a 55-33 win over Waterville on Saturday, Jan. 14.
In the first quarter, Colbert out-scored the Shockers 10-5. Besides Colbert's big scoring period, Bennett Wagner scored three points and Thomas Furman scored two points to give the Gorillas an early 15-5 lead.
Waterville outscored Davenport 13-8 in the second quarter to close to within 23-18 at halftime.
Colbert's hot hand continued after the break when he scored 10 third quarter points. The Gorillas outscored the Shockers 19-9 to jump to a 42-27 lead.
