Free fishing weekend set for June 7-8

OTHELLO — Fishermen won’t need a license this weekend to cast their lines into the Snake River.

June 7-8 mark “free fishing weekend” across the state. That means fishermen can catch a number of species without needing a license. In addition, fishermen may use two poles.

Anglers don’t need to worry about having a license this weekend to try their luck catching smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, perch, catfish, bluegill and crappie, among other species at The Potholes or other lakes and streams. Rainbow trout may also be caught without a license.
